5 Things We Love About Disney Infinity 3.0

My family got the original Disney Infinity for our Nintendo Wii when it came out but honestly my kids just couldn’t get into it. The Wii version was only one player so it caused a lot of fights but luckily the newer versions got better, especially since we got them for Xbox 360. The newest edition is Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition Starter Pack and it features all the fun of the previous Disney Infinity editions and more.

So what do we love about Disney Infinity 3.0?

Star Wars™ – This version is all about Star Wars™ which of course is exciting with the new movie coming out. You get two figures – Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker plus a Twilight of the Republic Play Set Piece. You can play in story-driven Star Wars play sets in addition to the ever-creative Toy Box.

Toy Box – I don’t know how to describe Toy Box other than to say it is a big open space where you can create basically anything. My kids create army-type bases and battle mobs of random characters.  I have seen other Toy Boxes that are totally amazing but the fun is just creating and exploring. You can even explore other’s Toy Boxes and play in them! There is even a Toy Dispenser now that gives free items to play with in the game, my kids go back and forth to the Toy Dispenser.

Toy Box Expansion Sets – We loved the other two Toy Box versions but this version has even more. You can change up platforms, race and even farm! There are two new multiplayer Toy Box Expansion Games: Toy Box Takeover and Toy Box Speedway. We got the Toy Box Takeover. It is an add-on to the game where you put this piece on the portal and it expands the game play. It is basically mini missions in the Toy Box where you get to use your characters to battle across multiple Toy Box worlds and defeat bad guys.

1.0 and 2.0 Characters works on this set – I love that we don’t have to completely buy all new figures. The characters are forward compatible, just not backward compatible – meaning 3.0 characters won’t work on the older versions but the old characters will work going forward. Of course we have bought a few and my kids already are asking for some for Christmas of the 3.0 versions but my kids love old characters – Iron Man being their favorite.

It is a great family game. My family all gets together and plays this. While this is just a 2-player game we take turns playing and it is just fun watching the game play. My boys love showing off their moves and I love just exploring when I play.

If you are looking for a Christmas present for your kids I highly recommend Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition Starter Pack. It is available for Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Wii U, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. While your kids may think its for them, you can enjoy that it will turn into family time! Even if its just kids playing, it brings kids together to play nicely – which if my boys can get along playing this game then any kids can!
