The holidays are something I love. We visit family all over the place, many whom we only see at Christmastime. With three kids and all the driving around we do, I do though need to pack a lot and have a lot to worry about. Did I pack presents for everyone we will be seeing? Do I have a hostess gift? What dish am I making and bringing?
I’ll never forget, it was my oldest son’s third Christmas where he was actually old enough to get real toys. He got a truck toy he really wanted and it of course needed batteries. Batteries though were not part of the gift and I hadn’t thought to bring any. My son cried and cried because he wanted it to work and he didn’t understand why it wouldn’t work.
The next year I brought a whole Ziploc bag of various batteries, scissors and a screwdriver, I was prepared! We had no crying kids and all toys were in working order right out of the box.
It is crazy nowadays how many toys need batteries and how tightly packaged they are. Seeing my kids open presents though is something priceless to me and I love every moment of it. I feel so fortunate to be able to give my kids some of the toys they ask for.
With Star Wars being all the rage now because of the new movie coming out December 18th, of course Star Wars toys are at the top of my kids lists. Well recently I got the chance to partner with Duracell, Hasbro, Disney and Toys “R” Us to feature one of the hottest toys this holiday season.
Head to your local Toys “R” Us for one-stop-shopping this holiday season for all the toys on your kids Christmas lists and the Duracell batteries they will need. Don’t forget too to give batteries when you give a gift!
I received the New Luke Skywalker Light Saber Toys to give to my boys and they were beyond excited. I let them open the box and their faces were priceless.
But what I didn’t do was give them batteries right away. Now they are old enough and know that pretty much all the cool toys require batteries but there was no batteries in the box, or so they thought.
Well I couldn’t let them be sad for too long, and honestly I was excited to check out the new Light Sabers, so I handed over some Duracell batteries for them. I knew they were going to be playing with them non-stop and I didn’t want the disappointment of them running out of batteries, Duracell is the way I assured that from happening.
Um, needless to say they are the coolest Light Savers we have ever owned. They have been playing with them non-stop as I expected and even my 4 year daughter joined in the fun in a Jedi costume. I love that you can add on parts to make it a bigger Light Saber both vertically and horizontally! Seriously you can make some crazy combinations with additional pieces, which is why it has become the coolest Light Sabers we have owned.
Since the Toys“R”Us Big Book came out, my boys have basically circled every Star Wars toy in the catalog. Luckily Toys“R”Us makes it easy to be a one-stop shopping experience for the toys, batteries and even wrapping paper you will need to ensure there are no tears or sad faces this December.
