In my house we love turkey but for one reason or another, we tend to only eat it only at Thanksgiving. We do get turkey lunch meat for sandwiches but its never the same as a big Thanksgiving meal. You know the whole turkey, cranberry sauce, rolls, stuffing and salad – yum! Thanksgiving is the time we can relax and really enjoy family time before the craziness of the holidays and my oldest son’s birthday starts. Well I was thinking the other day, why do I have to wait for Thanksgiving to give my family the meal they want? While yes I could cook a turkey breast I was thinking more in the line of a turkey sandwich. So I grabbed some items from the grocery store and created a Thanksgiving Sandwich featuring delicious Healthy OnesSmoked Turkey Breast.
Other than it being delicious, Healthy Ones Smoked Turkey Breast is also a great way to stay on track for a healthy lifestyle. I have been slowly trying to incorporate healthier options into my family’s meals. Healthy Ones Smoked Turkey Breast is 97% fat free and sliced only from the breast. It is lean, tender and juicy, which is not always the case from with a lunchmeat.
As a mom I appreciate that is a Heart-Heathy Food certified by the American Heart Association and its 37% lower in sodium that other smoked turkey. The pure honey used gives it a slightly sweet taste and there are no artificial flavors used. Three slices of lunchmeat even account for 11g of protein!
So here is my creation of my Thanksgiving Sandwich featuring Healthy Ones Smoked Turkey Breast:
Ingredients:
Healthy Ones Smoked Turkey Breast
Bread – I chose Ciabatta rolls but this recipe will work with whatever bread you’d like.
Stuffing – I used boxed stuffing mix that took a whole 5 minutes to make and will serve the leftover stuffing on the side!
Cranberry Sauce – Yes I used the can stuff for convenience and honestly it is comforting for me!
Lettuce – I had a bag of salad lettuce on hand so used that but any leafy greens will work.
Here are some more pics to drool over:
So how did my family like the Thanksgiving Sandwich? Loved it! Surprisingly all of my kids even tried it and liked it which is amazing in itself since my kids can be picky.
I think it was the Healthy Ones Smoked Turkey Breast that made the difference. It was the first time we tried Healthy Ones Turkey and it definitely out shinned other turkey lunch meats I have tried. No dry taste or slimy feel, just wholesome turkey with the perfect sweet oven roasted flavors soaked in. It is the perfect sandwich for lunch or pair it with some veggies and more stuffing and serve it for dinner! I am even going to use this recipe with Thanksgiving leftovers since I tend to never have turkey left but always lots of the sides!

Either the sandwich is giant or the child is small. Or both.
Sliced turkey sandwiches are a must have on my family's weekly menu! My hubby makes some massive ones for lunch almost every day.
looks amazing! I would probably stop to the deli at Meijer and get some fresh cranberry relish and use that instead!
Yum! A tasty looking Thanksgiving Slider; I can't wait to try it :) I'll have to look for the Healthy Ones Smoked Turkey Breast!
my husband would like this for his lunches
I am going to try this out tomorrow afternoon as a precursor to the holiday. Thanks for the great recipe.
Now that looks good!
I love this sandwich. I make a version of it with Thanksgiving leftovers and I think I look forward to it as much or more than the big dinner. I never think to make it with cold cuts though. This looks like a good brand.
This looks so yummy! I love Ciabatta bread and the idea of adding stuffing to the sandwich is brilliant! I love this, and will be making this soon.
