2016 Mazda6 i Grand Touring {Car Review} @DriveShopUSA @MazdaUSA

I received this car for one week to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

Mazda is a car company I have never really known anything about. Last year I got the chance to check out the 2015 Mazda3 so when I was offered the 2016 Mazda6 I was excited. The Mazda3 was a sporty car that I loved whipping around with my family and I knew the Mazda6 would be fun as well.

Features I loved:

MPG – It uses a 2.5L SKYACTIV-G gasoline engine that is said to have better EPA-estimated highway MPG than the competition. The Highway MPG is 40.

Efficient – The engine braking system captures energy when you lift your foot off the accelerator and stores the energy to power the car’s electrical components – from the AC to power steering. This improves real-world fuel efficiency by as much as 5%. You can feel the power in the car and it kinda calms down when your not accelerating.

Lane Departure Warning System – Alerts you when drifting into another lane. Super useful but can be turned off.

Blind Spot Monitoring – Alerts you if vehicle or object is in your blind spot and unsafe to change lanes.

All-Season Tires – I have never used all-season tires but they were such a blessing with the snow we got here in Chicago, can’t believe I have never invested in them in my own car!

Advanced Keyless Entry System – With the Engine Start button you can easily start the car with your keys in your purse/pocket. There is also a button on the car handle you can push without pushing the un-lock on the keys! So convenient when I am juggling with my kids.

Roomy backseat – It is a 5-passenger car and I was able to fit my three kids comfortably in the backseat.

Easy to use Navigation System – I like navigation systems that are easy-to-use without having to read a whole manual. I had no problem using it and was able to find everything I needed.

Control Navigation System – You can use both Touchscreen or a Button which is easier to move around when driving.

Overall, the design makes it look like a luxury sports car, especially with the red color. It was a big change from my mini-van and I will say I enjoyed the pace. It was a very smooth ride and with the amazing fuel economy I drove around it for longer than I expected. My husband was actually interested in it as he is going to be in the market for a new car, and he is quite picking about cars! It wasn’t a 6-cylinder like he would have liked but for it was surprisingly a quick little car.

  • Looks like a nice car. My husband has a Mazda3, but it's getting old, and this looks like a nice one to replace it. Cars sure are getting fancy! I think I would like the blindspot warning, and the lane drifting would be good for my daughter learning to drive.
