Disclosure: I received this car for one week to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
As a mom of three I don’t often get to drive around a small sporty car but before kids I did have a cute little sporty car. So when I got the chance to drive the 2015 Mazda3 I was excited to check it out. The Mazda3 is a sporty, compact car that is the brand’s best-selling vehicle worldwide with more than 3.5 million vehicles sold so far!
Now I will say it is not a car meant for a big family since its small and compact but if you are looking for a sporty little car to whip around in, this is the perfect choice. I would say you could fit four adults in it, surprisingly the backseat is roomy, but five would be tight. I was not able to fit three car seats in the back but I had no problem with two of them with the cool armrest/cupholder console pulled down the middle.
Features I love:
- Bluetooth set up for phone with call history and text messages read aloud
- AUX and USB ports
- Keyless entry and push-button start
- Active Driving Display
- Lots of airbags (front and side)
- Tire Pressure Monitoring System
- LATCH system to easily install carseats
- Whiplash-reducing front headrests (hopefully I don’t ever have to experience these though!)
- Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Alert
- 34 MPG average
- Uses SKYACTIV Technology which is a new approach to engineering from Mazda. It is designed for more efficient fuel economy and uncompromised driving performance.
- Suggested price starting at only $16,945 (the model I drove was $23,410)
Overall, the design to me makes it look like a luxury sports car especially front the front. I admit I felt pretty cool driving it around the neighborhood and it was such a smooth ride. The price to me makes it a steal especially when you consider the amazing fuel economy of it. I drove it around for a week and felt like I was doing a lot of driving but I barely used half a tank! I was actually trying to sell my husband on it as he needs a new car and prefers sporty looking cars. Since its usually just him or him and our boys, he doesn’t need a big car and this car with its fuel economy could really take him far! I have never driven a Mazda before and this one really surprised me. It had great pickup for a little car and just enough features inside to give it a little luxury!

I really like this although I prefer a 2 door car. I bought my Honda Civic in 2011 so it will be around for a while yet

I love Mazda’s styling! It looks like they made the Mazda3 bigger too, which is good. When I was looking for a compact car in 2009 we rejected the Mazda3 for its small backseat area. I’m glad that they’ve changed their interior since then!

I really like this even though I could never get one. Having 5 kids, I need to be able to get them all in the vehicle with me. This is nice looking however
