Movies Celebrating Love From PBS Kids

I received this product to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day and the month of love, PBS Kids has two titles perfect for celebrating love.

Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood: Would You Be Mine

Released: December 29, 2016 (PBS Kids)

Running Time: 120 minutes

Little Daniel is a shy, but brave, 4-year-old tiger who lives in the beloved Neighborhood of Make-Believe, exploring the neighborhood and his school with his friends, viewing the ordinary as extraordinary.

This DVD has eight Daniel Tiger episodes on it perfect for anytime of the year. Daniel Tiger and his friends discover that there are many ways to say “Ugga Mugga” which means “I love you!” I think it is a cute way for preschoolers to learn that loves comes in all sorts of ways and its a simple for kids to understand. With almost two hours of Daniel Tiger fun, it is a great way to watch a few episodes or just one at a time. It is not specifically a Valentine’s Day DVD but just love in general!

Episodes:

  • It’s Love Day!
  • Daniel’s Love Day Surprise
  • Daniel and Miss Elaina Play Rocketship
  • Daniel Plays at the Castle
  • Friends Help Each Other
  • Daniel Helps O Tell a Story
  • Margaret’s First Chime Time
  • Tiger Family Fun

Wordworld: Be My Valentine

Released: December 29, 2015 (PBS Kids)

Running Time: 65 minutes

Sheep decides to make a special valentine song for her pal Bear, but runs into trouble when she tries to find the right rhyme for her song. With Fly’s help, she makes Bear a valentine song straight from her heart. Bug wants to sign a valentine for his favorite WordFriend, but he doesn’t know how to write his name. With Frog’s help, he learns that with a little practice he can write his name and give his valentine.

This DVD features five episodes featuring word fun. The show is a great way for kids to learn letters and how to form words, I still think it is how both my boys learned their first words. The characters are adorable and letters form what they are called – seriously its an adorable show. We never catch Word World on television anymore but this gives my kids a chance to still enjoy these silly characters. One episode is Valentine’s Day themed but the rest are for everyday.

Episodes include:

  • My Fuzzy Valentine
  • Love, Bug
  • Sh-Sh-Shark
  • Princess Sheep
  • There’s an Ant in Every Giant
