I partnered with Voortman in exchange for sharing this information and my honest opinion.
I will be the first to admit I am not a cook nor do I enjoy cooking. I do of course cook and bake for my family but as a mom of three I look for shortcuts. Frozen meal I just have to heat up, check! Meals where I just have to throw some in ingredients in a slow cooker, check! Baking from a cake mix in a box, check!
So when I heard Voortman was hosting a contest that encouraged users to either create a wafer structure or recipe using Voortman wafers I was excited. I love that they are encouraging users to create something using their wafers whether it be a building or a recipe. Such a great idea and perfect for those like me who are not ones who like to start from scratch!
Never heard of Voortman before? I am sure you have you just didn’t realize it! For me I always knew of them as the wafers my mom kept in the cabinet as a treat for us. Those wafers were always exactly what us kids needed to satisfy our sweet tooth. Now I buy them for my daughter who loves them.
Now I’m used to the Voortman Wafers being Vanilla or Strawberry flavored but they actually come in eighteen different flavors, including many I can’t wait now to find in my local stores:
Voortman is giving away $2,500 to two lucky winners: one for the Best Wafer Structure and one for the Best Wafer Recipe. Entrants can submit either an original Wafer Structure or an original Wafer Recipe each day during the Contest Period. Yes each day you can add another creation for a chance to win! The Inspired by Voortman Wafer contest only runs until June 13th!
If you decide on a Wafer Structure, Voortman even has a Royal Icing Recipe to help hold the wafers together but still keep them edible of course!
My Voortman Wafer creation ended up being a great activity for ‘baking’ with my daughter! I decided to coat Voortman wafers in white chocolate and sprinkles to create little ‘cakes’! My 4 year old absolutely loved being able to help and she actually did most of the work herself. Now I am not a super creative person nor do I make very pretty meals but these little treats ended up being both delicious and adorable.
I used both Vanilla and Strawberry wafers and we did some treat where we just dipped the wafer and coated half of it and other treats where we broke them in half and coated the whole thing. Seriously a fun way to get kids involved in the kitchen and have some yummy treat for later (unless you eat them all while your making them!)

These would be perfect treats to if you want a somewhat homemade treat for a party or event but don’t have a lot of time.
Hopefully I helped inspire a creation for you to enter into the Voortman contest, but if you need more inspiration check out the amazing creations in the Creations Gallery. I can only dream to be as cool as some of those ‘artists’!
I buy my Voortman Wafers at Target but you can check out Where to Buy Voortman Cookies page for a store near you.
