I partnered with SoulPancake in exchange for sharing this information and my honest opinion.
Did you know that May is Mental Health Awareness Month? I honestly had no idea but think it is great to help bring attention to the issues so many people are dealing with.
SoulPancake is a media company that created some videos to inspire, uplift and engage with others in a real, raw but still entertaining way. Mental Health issues affect people differently and unless you experience it firsthand with yourself or a close friend/family member, it may not be something easily understood.
The first video from SoSonia called, “Happiest Girl in the World”, is a moving and powerful video that shows us that sometimes the face we show to the world isn’t really how we’re feeling inside.
The second one is called, “Illuminate”, is a beautifully shot scripted short about a boy who struggles to deal with his mother’s depression, and eventually ends up building her a rocket ship to take her away from her pain.
Looking for more videos that will make you feel good when watching them? SoulPancake uploads new videos weekly about art, culture, science, philosophy, spirituality and humor. Their slogan is “We make stuff that matters.”
I have a great giveaway from SoulPancake for a $25 Visa just by checking out one (or both) of the videos above.
WIN IT: (1) US winner will receive a $25 Visa Gift Card

Having lived with depression myself, I like how the videos bring the subject to light.
I think it’ great that these videos are bringing awareness to depression and anxiety. I could relate to the girl in the Happiest Girl in the World video.
I liked the video "Happiest Girl in the World" very much! It speaks of how even with anxiety or depression, we can still find things to be very happy about. I have anxiety disorder, but I am happy go lucky most of the time so it reminds me of me!
Love the little boy and his rocket and making his mom smile! It's so true when you have light inside darkness can't overcome you!
