I partnered with American Girl in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
Ever since American Girl dolls first came out I wanted one. I was too old for a doll when they were popular so I dreamed of having a daughter I could share my love for American Girl with. Well my daughter finally turned 5 years old and I figured it was the perfect time for her to finally get one. Luckily just in time for my daughter to get her first doll, American Girl has come out with the WellieWishers line.
They are a new line of American Girl friends who each have the same big, bright wish: to be a good friend. Each doll has her own down to earth personality and story. The dolls are sized just right for smaller hands at 14.5 inches tall. They are geared towards girls as young as 5 years old, whereas the traditional 18 inch American Girl dolls are more so for ages 8 and up. WellieWishers are also more affordable if you are on a budget, they are just $60 each but come with the same quality you’d expect from an American Girl doll. The downfall is though that if you have other American Girl doll clothes, they will not fit WellieWishers since they are smaller sized.
In addition to the five dolls, there are outfits for both the dolls and girls and numerous accessories.
At the top of my daughter’s list is the WellieWishers Playhouse and I will admit, it is pretty adorable.
Here is my daughter playing in a kid-sized remake of the Playhouse:
What better place to get a WellieWishers doll than at the brick and mortar American Girl store! Let me say if you have a store near you, make it a day with your daughter(s.) From shopping the entire store to having lunch in the cafe, it was an amazing day that we will definitely be doing regularly. Just keep in mind that you should set guidelines from the start over how much you are going to let your child spend! My daughter was happy to just walk around the whole store and get ideas over what she wants.
Camille became my daughters new friend and she has carried her around everywhere! I love her size and quality, sturdy but loveable. We ended up buying her a few outfits and her accessory kit, the Ocean Treasures Set.
As I mentioned before, we made a whole day out of our American Girl shopping trip. After browsing the store and shopping up a storm, we finished up with a meal at the American Girl Cafe. I highly recommend eating there if you can. The food is good and the whole meal is an experience. My daughter loved the highchair they brought for her doll to sit at the table with us! We got to experience a birthday party with cake and a craft!
Overall, we had an amazing day. I do think I might have created a monster though!
