Creative Building Fun With Wooden Set From MiO

With Christmas coming up, I have started taking stock in all the toys we already have. From plastic toys to tech gadgets, our toy room is quite packed. Don’t get me wrong I am not saying there is anything wrong with plastic or tech toys, but sometimes you just want something simple but still fun. I have always been a fan of wooden toys ever since my oldest received a wooden rattle as a baby. Something about wood just reminds me of quality and love, especially since usually wooden toys are handmade.

Well The Manhattan Toy Company has come out with a new line of toys that while they are no handmade, they are still quality wooden toys. The MiO line contains wooden pieces that are gender neutral and the pieces suggest familiar objects without actually being them. For example, a flat piece can be a table or a bed. The line is all about inspiring imaginative and creative play. It is also perfect for generations to play together since wood is a timeless toy.

I received two MiO sets that has already quite some fun in our house with my daughter and even her brothers. My daughter has already asked for more pieces for her set and luckily The Manhattan Toy Company has a whole slew of fun MiO products.

The MiO Eating + 2 People set contains two people plus a house for them to live and play in. The MiO people have a wooden head and a beanbag body so they can stand up nicely, they are pretty unique. In addition to the people, the building set contains 1 room, 1 loft, 1 tabletop plank, 6 cubes and a drawstring bag.

You get just enough pieces to play but not enough that they will be everywhere. The drawstring bag contains most of the pieces as well except the biggest piece. It is perfect for bringing with from room to room or for on-the-go fun. The way everything is easily contained is a huge plus. It was amazing to see how creative my kids were with these few simple pieces. The possibilities really are endless with what can be built and created.

To complete our little house, we also received the MiO School Bus + 2 People. The bus comes with two beanbag people plus with our two people it was quite the little busload! The wood is thin wood but still quality wood that is safe for little hands. The wheels work for real kid-powered zooming around.

You can even add a cute little MiO Trailer to the bus for more pulling fun! We don’t have this yet…

The best part about all the MiO products though is…no batteries are required! There are no sounds or lights, just simple fun sure to inspire some creativity.
