I am someone who does nothing with my nails other than my toes in the summer. I am trying though to do my nails more often as it does make me feel better when I am all dolled up. As a mom of three though I don’t have time to constantly get my nails done at a salon. Usually my free time is late at night, which obviously salons are not open at that time.

This gel nail polish set comes with six pastel colors that work great with the Melody Susie gel nail dryer. The colors are great for any collection and cheerful during the upcoming dreary winter. The gel is non-toxic and won’t crack or damage nails. I didn’t notice a smell when using it which is nice. It says it offers 15 days plus of high performance wear then soaks off in about 10 to 15 minutes with a special remover.

I have only done my nails once and so far and one hand came out great and the other so/so. I definitely learned from my mistakes and did better with the other hand. You do need to start with clean and natural nails to start and let them cure (dry) long enough. Gel polish needs a special dryer to “cure” them which is supposed to keep them from chipping or cracking. I did 60 seconds the first time and then 120 seconds. With some patience and prep, I feel like this gel nail polish can be pretty awesome. I would recommend to do a few coats to keep it nice an even. I also think practice makes perfect and I am a gel nail newbie.

MelodySusie – Pro24W Nail Lamp Smart Gel Nail Dryer

This gel nail dryer is super easy to use. Just plug it in and it push a button for one of the three pre-set time settings (30, 90, 120 seconds.) It includes an auto shutoff of a motion sensor that shuts the lamp off if you remove your hand early. It uses LED and UV bulbs to ensure nails are evenly finished. At 120 seconds it worked the best for my nails and dried them. I did not notice a sticky or wet feeling afterwards. I will admit too I felt better using the Melody Susie gloves to protect me from the UV light even though my hands were not under the lights for more than two minutes.

As a new at home gel polish user, I did think about the UV lights that my hands would receive. I don’t do tanning beds because of UV rays and the thought of using a gel nail dryer had me a little nervous. These gloves are soft and lightweight. They easily slip on and on thanks to a stretchy spandex material. They offer a UPF+ rating certified to block ultraviolet light so for those with any apprehension over gel nail dryers, these gloves offer some assurance. I didn’t feel like they were a bother at all. I was even able to roll them down so my daughter could use them as well.
