Interactive Toddler Books From Silver Dolphin

With so many books to choose from, it can be hard to find quality books that your kids will actually enjoy. Well for nearly 20 years now, Silver Dolphin Books has been publishing award-winning activity, novelty, and educational nonfiction books for preschoolers to 12-year-olds. That is a long time for both publishing and the span of age appropriate books. The focus of Silver Dolphin Books is to create books that engage and inspire kids to learn more about the world around them while of course reading.

For me, I have always loved getting sucked into a book and exploring the worlds I am reading about. I have always been a big book lover and still to this day try to read at least one book a month so my creativity doesn’t slowly disappear. I really do think creativity and reading go hand-in-hand. Not that I am creative in the slightest when it comes to making something but when it comes to picturing it in my head from a story, I got that.

So as a mom of three kids from 5 to 10 years old, I am constantly on the lookout for books to engage my own kids. Silver Dolphin Books sent me a few of their newest books that are perfect for toddlers to interact with.

Books for kids that love construction equipment, emergency vehicles and flying machines:

Push-Pull-Turn: Dump Truck Gets to Work!, Fire Truck to the Rescue!, and Up in the Air!

These books are big hardcover books, packed with images all around trucks and planes. They are easy to read, with just one or two sentences on the pages so perfect for quick story for kids. I think kids too will love just browsing the books themselves and interacting with them. The pages have parts where you Lift, Turn and Pull various parts to make the stories interactive. No batteries required, they are kid-powered! I like how they are hardcover and therefore durable. I know when my boys were little they were rough with books they read often and these would have been a hit with them!

For kids that love lift and flap books:

Up, Up, Up in the Tree

This is a narrow hardcover book that is jam packed with flaps to open that is sure to keep kids entertained. The book tells a story of animals in and around a tree, perfect for curious little ones. The story is easy to read with just one to two sentences on the pages. The illustrations are fun and very kid-friendly. My 5-year-old enjoys flipping through the book on her own and loves the different animals in it. At the end of the book there is even a secret page that opens up and lists all the animals for kids to then go back and make sure they find.

For kids that love to maze and trace books:

Trace Race: Things That Go

This is a book that is perfect for kids who just can’t keep their hands off books! This book is all about tracing very simple paths for all different animals and their environments. Kids just need their fingers to trace the pathways, no marker is required. It is perfect for working those little fingers with hand-eye coordination. This is a great book for kids that love things that go as it has a little of everything in it. The book is hardcover too so it is pretty durable!

I think the interactive nature of this book is awesome. It gets the kids away from the TV, computer, and tablets and lets them use an actual book rather than an eBook.

My daughter loves learning about animals so I think Up Up Up Up in the Tree would be perfect for her.

I would donate the books to our local abuse center, they would be given to family in need in a time of need.

I have grandkids who are just starting to learn to read and I think these will certainly be of bebefit for them.l They will also love the facts that they are so colorful and bright.

My grandson loves to be read to. Nothing excites him more than things that GO!
