In response to thousands of requests, American Girl has decided to give girls more dolls to love in 2017. I love that as a company they are listening to their fans and giving us more.

So on February 16th, American Girl introduced their newest contemporary character, Tenney Grant. Tenney is a breakout singer-songwriter from Nashville who is pursuing her dream of becoming a performer. She is a country girl with big dreams.

This is a picture of Tenney in one of her additional outfits and accessories, which of course  is adorable and a must have for my daughter. I love those little cowgirl boots and that banjo!

In addition, the line will also feature Logan Everett, Tenney’s bandmate and American Girl’s first-ever boy character. I love that they are introducing a boy character! Logan is perfect for boys who want a doll, but not a doll-doll and girls who just want a boy doll to play with. Everyone should be able to enjoy an American Girl with whatever they like or prefer.

Tenney is a beautiful 18-inch doll dressed in a Country music-inspired outfit. With her long curly locks, warm brown eyes and outfit, she looks right out of Nashville. Her outfit includes a graphic tee, denim vest, faux-leather skirt, underwear and ankle boots. Along with her also comes the Tenney paperback book by Kellen Hertz. While my daughter is not ready for the book, I have put it aside for when she gets older. The American Girl books are always great reads, and yes I have read them in the past!

Tenney was a hit with my daughter as soon as we opened her up. From her fun clothes to flowing curls, my daughter was so excited to play with her.  Her flowing curls and outfit just look perfect together.

As a mom, I love Tenney’s story of her drive and determination. She learns that she needs to work hard and stay true to herself, which in the music business especially is probably hard. I have talked to my daughter about Tenney’s story as I want her to grow up to be the best she can while still true to herself. Maybe not a singer, but still she can be anything!
