This year American Girl announced “More Characters To Love” and is slowly releasing more character options in 2017 than ever before. From Gabriela McBride to Tenney Grant, American Girl’s latest character is Z Yang. “Z” which is short for Suzie is Korean-American and is representing more diverse backgrounds, creative interests, and experiences for girls today.

Z Yang is American Girl’s popular stop-motion vlogger and is brought to life for her fans who have come to know and love her as the star of the company’s immensely popular web series, Z’s Crew.

Z is from Seattle and loves staying connected with friends and sharing a good story through stop motion videos. I love how Z Yang looks so modern and fun. She looks like such a tech savvy girl who loves to speak her mind, exactly what I want for my daughter. My daughter is 6 and is hooked on the American Girl YouTube videos and loves seeing her favorite characters brought to life!

Z Yang’s clothes are fun and her hair is so perfectly straight and easy to manage. My daughter is so excited to get accessories for her for her birthday this year. She doesn’t come with her glasses or furry friend, which of course are must haves!

Every time we get a new doll and she becomes my daughter’s favorite, I don’t think there could be any doll that could replace her. Then American Girl comes out with a new character that is just as amazing and fun. I think Z Yang is my favorite so far, but that could be because she is a vlogger (close enough to blogger!) I love too how American Girl is becoming so diverse as well. When I was little, I remember my mom searching for a doll with brown hair like me and it was not an easy task. Back then it seemed like every doll was blonde with blue eyes. Dolls have certainly come a long way!
