I partnered with this brand for product/compensation in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
My three kids have all loved role playing. From superheroes to princesses to animal explorers, even my oldest still enjoys role playing. A role-playing activity that my 6-year-old daughter has been playing a lot recently is doctor. She loves bandaging up herself and her friends, we had to buy crutches she could pretend with from the local thrift store and she is always asking if any of us are sick.
Well, now thanks to Little Medical School, children ages 3 to 14 years old can enjoy mini-medical, nursing, pharmacy, dental and veterinarian school experiences. New for 2017 is the launch of a retail line of award-winning educational kits and products. The kits contain everything a curious little doctor would need to get started and they encourage social development, cooperation, teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving.
I got the chance to check out the My Little Veterinarian kit and My Little Sport Medicine kit. Both are hits with my 6-year-old and her friends. They contain a little of everything for a little doctor in the house.
This kit comes with an adorable little plush dog, workbooks, doctor coat and more. It is perfect to start with and then kids can use the tools on other stuffed pets they have! The dog is adorable and pretty durable luckily especially with all the “medical tests” my daughter has put him through. You even get dog bone cookie cutter and recipe card to create some real dog treats for furry friends. There is a workbook included that is a great parent-child activity since the words/activities may be hard for kids to read.
This kit is perfect for active kids because it teaches them about broken bones, sprains, joints and even stitching! My daughter was amazed to learn that stitching up skin is just like sewing. Our favorite part is the velcro Ace bandage that is easy to wrap around and remove! You even get putty to play around with how joints work, my daughter was amazed.
The kits come with a lab coat which honestly isn’t that what makes a doctor? My daughter puts on her coat and she really gets into the doctor role. The coats even come in different sizes.
The container the kits comes in may be just cardboard but it is pretty sturdy box and can easily be used over and over. My daughter has been carrying around her kits (veterinarian or sports medicine depending on the situation) everywhere and they still look new.
What I really love about the kits though is how they include tools as well as a workbook. The workbooks explain about the different doctors, tools they use and tasks they would perform.
