Get a Free Kit to Help Keep Your Kids Safe

I partnered with this brand in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

My oldest is starting fifth grade in just a few weeks and I cannot believe it. How has time flown by so fast? For over ten years now, taking care of my family has been my #1 job. As a mother, my laundry list of responsibilities has been a mile long: from making sure my children are eating a healthy diet, to maintaining good hygiene, completing their homework assignments, and more. While my commitment to their lives will never change, it seems that some things do.

Now as my children are getting older, my responsibilities have shifted too. With technology moving faster than ever, I have to worry about the internet, screen addiction, and social media. Safe to say, I knew it was important early on to become a tech savvy parent. While I’ve so far succeeded in keeping up, it’s not without a little help as every day it seems my kids latch onto a new app or online trend that takes up all of their attention.

Some stats about kids and online activities from Family Safety Resources are extremely troublesome to read:

  • Children spend nearly 9 hours a day on screen time.
  • 65% of parents have “digitally grounded” their kids by taking their kids phones or internet access.
  • 10 is the average age for children to get their first smartphone. Parents often fall for the “But all my friends have them.”
  • 50% of young people have experienced some form of cyberbullying.
  • 1 in 5 U.S. teenagers has received an unwanted sexual solicitation online.
  • 58% of teens don’t think posting personal information online is unsafe.
  • 72% of American families are currently saving for their children’s college education.
  • 37% of parents with children under 18 don’t have life insurance.
  • 1 in 5 school-aged children are obese.

Since all of us parents can use some help every now and then, Family Safety Resource has come out with a FREE Child Safe Kit. The Child Safe Kit is a great resource for parents and grandparents that is full of tons of great assets:
