Car Review

2017 Mitsubishi Outlander SEL S-AWC @DriveShopUSA #Mitsubishi

I received this car for one week to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

Mitsubishi to me means no frills but fun to zip around in. I have driven quite a few Mitsubishi cars and recently I got the chance to zip around in the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander SEL S-AWC. The Mitsubishi Outlander is an SUV and I drove one with a third row. Now I will say I really do love cars with third rows because it gives you the choice to have a big trunk or room for two extra passengers. You don’t really get both as the trunk with the third row is super small but it is great to have as an option.

Features:

  • Roomy – this model had a third row and was roomy enough for my family of five. I ended up having one of my kids sit in the third row and everyone was happy. There is not a lot of leg room in the third row so I’m not sure adults would be comfortable but for quick trips, it does the job.

  • No trunk really if you have the third row up otherwise it is a decent size

  • 4 cylinder engine – this is not very fast but good enough for pickup around town.
  • Rain-sensing windshield wipers – This is a feature that I found because some drops landed on the windshield and it was a nice surprise.
  • Sporty design

  • Great warranty – 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain, 7 year/100,000 anti-corrosion, 5 year/60,000 new vehicle limited warranty, 5 year/unlimited roadside assistance
  • Tire pressure monitoring system – Do you check your tires regularly? I don’t and honestly getting a flat tire freaks me out. I love that this alerts the driver to low tires.
  • Keyless entry – This is becoming pretty standard and I love it. Being able to keep my car keys in my purse or pocket means I don’t have to dig them out. You just push a button on the door when you are nearby and it senses the keys.

  • USB and Outlet

  • Push Button Engine Start – Again this becoming standard but it goes along with keyless entry and is a convenience thing.

  • Touch-Screen Navigation/Entertainment System – This navigation was super easy to use and I didn’t need a manual to figure out.

  • 26 MPG City and 29 MPG Highway
  • Smart and useful dashboard

  • Key holder spot – So I didn’t realize what this spot was for at first then I realized it was the size of the key fob. If you use it then it beeps to remind you that you are leaving the keys in the car. Super helpful!

  • Seat warmers

  • Third-row seats can be folded down individually – perfect if you need just a little extra room but also another passenger

  • Nice armrest for middle row seats

  • Side mirrors turn in – This is especially nice for parking.

  • Nice big sunroof

While many features are becoming standard on cars, it is nice to have a car that you can trust. Mitsubishi is known for their technology in cars as well as their warranty. I do though feel this car was a little more than I expected it to be. With all the features (many I didn’t list above) it came to around $32,000. Now for that price I would have expected more premium features but then again SUVs do tend to cost more. If you are looking for a family SUV, this car worked for my family of five but it is not one we would consider due to its price and my growing kids.
