A Smart Device For Kids #VTechToys #KidiBuzz ™

I received product/compensation in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

When I was around 16 years old, I received my first cell phone. It was a phone just for emergencies and only worked when plugged into the car. Nowadays kids are getting phones younger and younger. I am all for kids embracing technology but not when it comes at a big price tag and exposure to areas I don’t want my kids exposed to. I mean I don’t need my kids to call or message anyone I don’t approve of (or know at all!), and I don’t need them searching all over the internet or playing games that are not age appropriate.

Sure there are tablets for kids but kids want phones just like mom and dad. My 6-year-old asks me constantly to play on my phone but with my phone costing $400+ and having so much access to everything and everyone on the web, I am always telling her no.

Well VTech has come out with the KidiBuzz™ which is a hand-held smart device for kids. It is similar to mom and dad’s smartphones or tablets in a lot of ways!

What can the VTech KidiBuzz do?

Search the web (parents can choose sites that kids can visit) via WiFi.

Message friends and family that parents have to approve – Kids can message friends on other approved VTech devices or users with the KidiConnect™ app installed on their smart device. Oh, and kids can even send voice messages!

Take photos and videos – this is probably my favorite feature as my daughter loves taking pictures and I love seeing things through her eyes. The camera also rotates 180 degrees for easy selfies! There are also more than 50 fun photo effects to choose from so kids can get creative with their photos.

Games, eBooks, and Music – The device comes with a ton and parents can download more from the VTech Learning Lodge® for low prices. Learning Lodge® has hundreds of different types of downloads to choose from.

More apps can be downloaded from the Amazon App Store – this is an awesome feature as it gives a ton more apps to choose from and I think it makes the device feel more grown up to the kid using it.

It’ll withstand a kid’s everyday use thanks to its super tough design! It features protective, anti-shock construction and has a set-in shatter-safe screen.

Includes a headphone jack so kids can listen to their own music and games – and then everyone else doesn’t have to!

And you can say no to handing over your phone…

Honestly, my daughter has stopped asking for my phone ever since she got hers. She loves her KidiBuzz™ and doesn’t feel like its any different than my phone. She can take photos, play her games, and watch videos without me yelling at her to be careful or to choose something more educational. I love that we can send messages to each other and how she is learning to be a responsible smart device owner.

  • Games would probably start to be my son's favorite, but as soon as he learned he could send me messages just like mommy and daddy did he would be all over that. He loves writing me little notes and slipping them in my pocket all the time. He's 6, and he writes and reads VERY well, it's actually very impressive.

  • The kidibuzz has some great things for the kids, but I really think they would so enjoy the game feature the best.

  • Everything! But I think she would like the different apps that this has.She doesn’t have But a couple she can use on my phone,so it would be a whole new world to her for awhile.

  • the touch screen and having their own special just for me "phone". This would be a great learning device
