Let Your Child Become a Mermaid

As soon as my daughter learned to swim good, she immediately wanted to be a mermaid. We would joke with her that she is a fish in the water and she’d say “No, I’m a mermaid!”

We have tried mermaid bathing suit type pieces but of course she wanted more. Well Sun Tails did not disappoint! The mermaid tails from Sun Tails, they are swimmable and walkable tails in all varieties of colors.

Yes, I said “walkable” as kids can remove the monofin and pull up the fabric tail for walking. It is a two-piece set. The fabric is 80/20% nylon/spandex material with a 4-way stretch. It is meant to be comfortable for your child.

We have been able to test our new Sun Tail in water yet, but my daughter will be ready for when we do get to swim again. For now she plays in the bathtub with it! I will say though to make sure you have a strong swimmer or supervise your child well while they are wearing the monofin since your child won’t be able to tread water normally. It definitely looks like it will take time to get used to.

The smallest mermaid tail starts at a medium size 6/7 and then go up to misses size 12-16. I definitely think though the stretch of the fabric will last and grow with your child. It is nice though to be able to buy the next size when your child needs it rather than a one-size-fits-all which may not fit your child properly. You can also buy additional tail skins to fit over your monofin because a mermaid should be fashionable, right!
