Finding a game that is family friendly and fun for my family of five is not an easy task. My boys are 10 and 11 and they have totally different personalities and likes than my 7-year-old daughter. We also don’t always have a lot of time for a game that is going to be complicated or take awhile. Not Parent Approved is a hilarious family card game that is sure to bring out smiles on the whole family. Really it is impossible to not smile when playing the game!
So the premise of Not Parent Approved is that you choose a card from your hand to answer to a question. The Burp Boss then reads each question and answer and chooses his/her favorite response. The person whose card is chosen, wins the card! The winner is who has the most cards at the end, which the end is whatever you decide. Maybe you want to play for 10 points (10 cards) or even 5 points, this game can be played relatively quickly or keep on playing!
There are a ton of cards in the pack but if you feel you are running out then there are Expansion Packs to buy to add to your set!
Now I have played an ‘adult’ version of this game before but I will say, I probably have more fun when I play Not Parent Approved. I love that my whole family can enjoy a game together and we all laugh hysterically together. The game is also portable enough that it can be brought anywhere such as family parties, vacation and even a restaurant – perfect for killing time while waiting for your food.
I honestly cannot wait for Thanksgiving because this is going to be our new party game! I can just imagine the answers my parents will come up with! There really is no limit on the maximum amount of people, the minimum really needs to be four to really enjoy the game. As far as age goes, the recommended age is 8 years old but my 7-year-old was able to play without a problem.
