Surviving Cold & Flu Season with Lolleez

I received product/compensation in excahnge for sharing my honest opinion.

Winter is here, well at least it feels like it here in Chicago and it also means sickness is literally around every corner. From school to the grocery store to everything in between, I feel like everyone has a runny nose, cough, sore throat or are on the verge of it. Kids average 6-8 colds a year and most happen during the months of November through February, which means we are in the “sick” season.

While there are tons of medicines out there, they are also just that…medicines. They are full of chemicals, artificial colors, flavors and ingredients and not always age appropriate. I honestly probably don’t give my kids medicine enough because I’d rather them fight it naturally then just mask their symptoms.

Well a health coach and mom of four felt the same way and when her daughter got sick so she created Lolleez.

What are Lolleez?

  • Lolleez are an organic throat-soothing lollipop that parents don’t have to feel guilty giving to their kids due to its USDA Certified Organic ingredients like organic honey and natural fruit pectin. Pectin is known to temporarily relieve swelling and irritation.
  • They are NON-GMO as well as gluten, dairy and nut free. Perfect for those with allergies to those ingredients.
  • Thanks to their flat shape rather than round ball shape, which is a potential choking hazard, parents have one less thing to worry about.
  • Lolleez come in three fun flavors including: Watermelon, Strawberry and Orange Mango.
  • There is not really a minimum age since they are created to be worry free but obviously check with your doctor if your child is under 3 years of age.

Here are 5 great tips from Lolleez founder and mom Melissa Evans on how to prevent sickness:

  1. The washing of hands is the most important for preventing and not spreading sickness.  Teaching kids how to lather the soap and hit each part of their hands is key.  My kids all sing the Happy Birthday Song while they wash to make it fun and extend the process.
  2. We teach our kids that sharing is caring, but not during cold and flu season…encourage your kiddos not to share pens/pencils, iPads, drinks, etc. during this germy time.
  3. The early darkness in the winter helps me to get the kids in bed a little early, which is so important because their little bodies need more restorative rest.  Exercise and a well-balanced diet also help to keep immune systems strong.
  4. Teach your littles to keep away from the handrails – all the little hands that hold onto stairway or hallway rails are covered in germs.  Teach your child to avoid them or, if they need the assistance, to wash their hands when they’re back in their classroom.
  5. Make covering their mouths with their arm when they cough or sneeze mandatory…also no digging for gold either…yuck.

Also, for tummy issues the parent company of Lolleez, Momeez Choice, has just come out with Tumeez in Grape and Apple flavors. These Organic Tummy Soothing Lollipops for Kids were created to help ease and relieve heartburn, acid indigestion and an upset tummy. The lollipops are made with USDA Certified Organic ingredients such as 200mg of calcium carbonate and a small dose of organic honey – both known to help alleviate common stomach ailments. The pops are also NON-GMO as well as gluten, dairy and nut free.
