I received product/compensation in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
This past summer we finished a backyard remodel and I have been on the search for fun outdoor games. We have the typical outdoor games such as cornhole and volleyball but I wanted something more compact.
Upon searching for outdoor games on Amazon, I came across Giant Toppling Timbers. It is basically like the giant version of Jenga (it is not affiliated or endorsed by Jenga) and by giant I mean giant!
Since its too cold here in Chicago to play outside, we have been playing Giant Toppling Timbers indoors.
It is a game that can be played both indoors and out. Just carry it wherever you need to.
Speaking of carrying, this game comes with a durable bag perfect for storage and portability. I love that the bag is sturdy rather than a cheap, cardboard box.
The pieces are built to last due to quality craftsmanship wood. The pieces are solid wood, not hollow ones. They are also smooth pieces with no rough spots. There is no logo on them either which is nice since so many products get crazy with branding everywhere.
The game is perfect for all ages. We played the game at our recent Halloween party and had people from age 7 to 50s playing the game. There is no reading required or small pieces so little kids can play and no additional pieces that you have to worry about losing. Just 54 wood blocks and its bag.
While the game is fun there is so much behind the scenes going on. Players have to strategize on where to move pieces, focus and have a steady hand. My 7-year-old daughter was learning physics and didn’t even know it!
Oh and did I mention the game is giant? It stands 27 inches tall all together and then gets taller and taller as you build. We had to set a rule that once it got taller than my daughter she didn’t have to move pieces anymore and yes it got taller than my 7-year-old. We played it on the floor so I can only imagine how high it would get on a table!
Honestly, my family loves this game. It may seem pricey compared to other games but when I think about how this game is going to last my family for years and years, it is worth it. I can’t see us ever getting rid of this game! My young kids are playing now, I see us playing this with our adult friends and I see my kids playing this as teenagers. The bag makes it too so we can bring it with us to parties!
I will say too that after playing this giant version, I don’t know if I can go back to the smaller version! Everything really is better when its bigger! I would say the only flaw is that there is no starter piece to set the pieces on. You do need a flat surface to start on.
The company that makes Giant Toppling Timbers makes a bunch of other fun games as well, perfect for indoors and out.
