Plant flowers

Nothing makes a place as inviting as greenery. You can use a wide range of pots and outdoor planters differently to give your outdoor space a natural look and feel. Get the kids to help with painting the pots and allow their creativity to flow. There is a wide range of flowers you can look for including vines that climb up the walls towards the soffit, or the flowers that grow in the pots. Experiment with plants that will give you a wide range of colors to make the look more interesting.

Not only will they smell great when in full bloom, but plants actually clean up the environment by taking in the carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen during the day, a great way to keep your environment clean and fresh.

Use furniture.

There is a wide range of outdoor furniture that you can choose from. What you need to ensure is that the furniture can withstand extremes of temperature. Hot conditions will make wood splinter while wicker may not be able to withstand exposure to moisture.

Take into consideration the amount of space you have and shop accordingly. If you have a small space bar tables and stools would work better because they’re narrower. If in a bigger space you can explore having a sofa.  Use pillows, sofa covers, and rugs to give the space a more interesting look. Whatever you decide upon make sure it is comfortable because during certain times of the year likesummer you’ll be spending quite a bit of time outside.

Set up an outdoor bar and a barbeque area and get ready to enjoy your time outside.

Do necessary repairs and cleaning

Like any other part of the house, you need to make sure that you are up-to-date with the repairs. Make sure they are no splinters in the wood if you have a deck if the wood is rotten replace it and touch up on the paintwork if it needs touching up. A new paint job will give the outdoor area a whole new look, this is another activity you can do as a family allowing you to bond as you work on your outdoor space. 

Routinely clean the outdoor area to get rid of the dirt and the leaves that may have fallen from the plants.
