7 Things to Watch Out for in Your Next Relationship

Relationships can be disasters. You can never really know someone. Even the most innocent-looking person may be capable of betrayal. There’s nothing you can do to fully protect yourself beyond never dating anyone. Being in love means allowing yourself to feel vulnerable.

However, there are signs that you can watch out for. Here’s what they are.

1. Aggression

Sometimes, you can spot trouble brewing before it erupts. Rampant aggression can turn into physical or emotional abuse. Visit this is site if you want to know the effect domestic violence can have on your life: https://handlaw.com/denver-domestic-violence-lawyer/. It can be traumatizing for everyone involved.

2. Poor Manners

People almost universally list being mean to service people as one of their biggest turnoffs. Nobody likes it. Even people who are rude to others themselves rarely like to see the trait in other people.

If you notice constant rudeness episodes, you should take note. What’s going on? If your date is simply stressed out, the rudeness may be forgivable. Social anxiety is sometimes expressed as rudeness. However, if you determine that your date is simply a mean person, be prepared to leave.

3. Poor Hygiene

The scruffy, unwashed look is cute. Actually skipping showers is pretty gross. You’ll grow sick of it quickly. No one wants to smell someone else’s body odor all day. If someone has issues with their personal hygiene, it’s a sign that they may be experiencing mental turmoil.

Even if they’re not, poor hygiene habits will eat at you. It will grow more annoying as time passes.

4. Quick Intensity

If someone falls for you very quickly, you should be wary. You’re a charming person but no one can fall in love instantly. Someone who tries to engross all of your time from the start may have ulterior motives. Or they may simply be emotionally immature. Either way, it’s not a good sign.

There’s no established timeline on when to move forward in relationships. However, many people would say that moving in together after two weeks, for instance, is far too fast. If you won’t live with anyone until you’ve been dating for them five years, you’re on the opposite end of the spectrum.

5. Ignored Boundaries

When you say something to your partner, do they listen? If they tell a joke that hurts your feelings do they apologize or they say that you need to be less sensitive? Everyone has boundaries. When you’re in a healthy relationship, those boundaries are respected. You feel safe and respected.

If someone makes you feel as though your wants or needs aren’t important, they’re a bad partner. It doesn’t mean that they’re a bad person. You don’t have to hate them.

6. You Feel Bored

Relationships aren’t always exciting. But you shouldn’t feel bored with your partner all the time. If you do, it’s a sign that you’re in the wrong relationship. There should be many, many things that you enjoy about your partner and their company. Of course, if you’ve been together for a long time, boredom may be temporary. In that case, try to spice things up before throwing in the slide.

7. You Have Different Goals

Sometimes the perfect person comes in the wrong package. If you want kids and your partner doesn’t, it doesn’t matter how perfect they are in other ways. The relationship won’t work. Love is never enough if it’s not supported by common goals. When you’re building a relationship, you’re bringing two lives together. They need to be compatible or all of your efforts will be wasted.

8. You’re Not Attracted

Your partner doesn’t need to be the hottest person on the planet. But they need to be attractive to you. A relationship without sexual attraction is friendship. You can try to force the feelings, but eventually, you’re going to feel as though you’re not getting what you want. When you see other happy couples, you’ll notice what’s missing in your own life.

Attraction is often subtle. You can’t bid yourself to be attracted to someone even if you try. If the feeling isn’t there, it’s nearly impossible to fake it. Although, it is possible to try and heighten the attraction between one another with products from websites like TruePheromones.com, so if you haven’t tried this already, it could be worth a shot.

Relationships can make your own life easier. Having a partner willing to face everything with increases your joys and diminishes your sorrows. Yet, being with the wrong partner is even worse than being by yourself. It can make you feel terrible instead of loved and respected. That’s the feeling that you need to seek.
