Car Review

Checking Out the Redesigned 2019 Chevrolet Blazer

I received this car for one week to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

The first car I bought myself was a 2001 Chevy Blazer. I was in college and doing a lot of back and forth to home and wanted a big car after driving a compact car for years. I drove that Blazer through college and created many memories with it. I passed it down to my parents and they drove it and then passed it on, it is still going today!

When I heard there was a new Chevrolet Blazer design coming out, I was super excited to see it. I loved the model I had but was excited to see what changes could be done to it to make it even better. After driving the new car, I have been nudging my husband to get one!

Here are some of the features of the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer my family enjoyed:

It is a two-row midsize SUV. The second row has plenty of leg room but there is no third row, our family of five fit nicely in the car.

Premium leather-appointed and sueded microfiber seating surfaces made the inside look “super fancy” as my kids called it. I will say the suede is a nice touch. The seats themselves are super comfortable too, much softer than the ones in my minivan.

Chevrolet’s first Cargo Management System features a rail system and cargo fence to help divide the cargo area to secure smaller items. I didn’t think I would use this at first but then after a trip to the grocery store, I realized how amazing it is – no worrying about groceries rolling around or falling!

The Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System technology allows so much information and options at the touch of your fingertips, including an available 4G LTE Wi-Fi® Hotspot. The 8” diagonal HD color touchscreen really impressed me with how easy it was to use. If you are not about touchscreen though there are buttons under the screen to manage many options such as climate controls.

Speaking of climate controls, one feature I saw as genius is you actually turn the air vents to control the temperature! No buttons to fumble with or look for!

Chevy vehicles (2017 or newer) come equipped with Marketplace, the automotive industry’s first commerce platform for on-demand reservations and purchases of goods and services. Marketplace allows users to order food (including Dominos pizza!), make dinner reservations, find parking or hotels and locate and pay for fuel at participating Shell-branded stations. I didn’t take advantage of this but wish I would have!

The HD Rear Vision Camera provides the driver with a high-resolution image display of the scene directly behind the vehicle on the infotainment screen. This is something I have learned I cannot live without and makes me feel so much safer as a mom and driver.

Rear Park Assist is available in reverse below 5 mph and provides distance-to-object alerts to help the driver park and watch out for items around them.

Another standard safety feature is Rear Cross Traffic Alert which provides alerts when in reverse to help drivers avoid approaching detected left- or right-cross traffic.

Lots of USB ports around and a plug– this is a must for families as we all tend to have devices that need to be charged as soon as we get in the car!

Change your terrain settings by turning a knob. Easy to switch to 4×4, towing, hills and more.

The Bat Symbol or should I say the Chevrolet Symbol displays on the ground which is pretty awesome. The picture doesn’t do it justice, but it really is cool!

Rear Seat Reminder is another safety feature that is new to cars and for parents of babies especially this can be a lifesaver.

Finally, there is the body design itself which is very sleek, modern and sporty. Not boxy or bulky.

Honestly, the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer is amazing. I didn’t think they could improve upon the Blazer design but they did and in just the places. I don’t feel like any feature was just thrown in there but rather carefully designed to make drivers and passengers more comfortable, safer and smarter.
