Car Review

Heading to the Chicago Auto Show in the 2020 Dodge Durango

I received this car for one week to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

Before kids, my husband and I used to head down to the Chicago Auto Show every year. Once our kids were born, the thought of dragging small kids through that crowd sounded awful. Now that my boys are 12 and 13 years old, they are really getting into cars and I already see them planning for their first cars (which of course they think they are going to be able to afford a luxury one.) This year we decided to start the tradition of bringing our kids to the Chicago Auto Show, which I will say I forgot how big it was!

With my family of five plus grandpa and a winter weather advisory of snow, we were lucky to have the 2020 Dodge Durango to get us there safely.

Here are some features I found useful on the 2020 Dodge Durango:

Cozy, wrap-around seats that made our drive into the city more comfortable, especially when we sat in traffic. The fabric was so soft and smooth that, not cold and rough.

Valuable information on the dashboard about the car diagnostics, fuel, tires, and more. I really like the Range feature as it tells me how long I can go before I run out of fuel, I hate getting gas in the winter here in Chicago.

Lots of apps on the touchscreen navigation screen. I like that I don’t have to search for buttons for control the climate, radio or SRT Mode.

Speaking of SRT Mode, while I didn’t use it during my drive down to Chicago or really during the week, it is a feature that I am sure car people love. SRT (Street & Racing Technology) basically allows the driver to customize their experience from the track mode to exhaust to the towing and more.

Roomy for six passengers. I do wish the back row seated three people as do most SUV’s but because it only seated six, the seats were roomy. The middle row captain seats were nice.

Not that I was towing anything to the Auto Show, the Durango has the horsepower to tow and features to do it.

Back row seats can go down one at a time or together for more room, perfect for when I need to transport big items. Handles fold them down and pull the straps to pull them back up.

Extra storage in the trunk and around the car. I like keeping blankets in my trunk and emergency supplies. Having room in the trunk is nice because it is out of sight until I need it.

While I had the seats up, I was able to easily fit all my family’s groceries. Perfect because I needed to stock up after the Auto Show for the week!

Great navigation system. I love being able to easily and quickly type in my destination or even look something up and find it. We were in a hurry heading to the Auto Show and this navigation system worked perfectly.

Lots of spots to charge devices and a spot up front for my purse. I prefer cars that have some room to put stuff and spread out rather than having to throw my stuff on the passenger seat or floor.

After driving around town in the Dodge Durango and then down to the Chicago Auto Show, I will say it was a great ride for the week. My family of five fit nicely in the car and we had room in the trunk.
