My two boys started building before they could even walk. They loved all sort of blocks and building sets and we have owned them all. As they got older though they started asking for more detailed building sets – more pieces and the capability to move. My 12-year-old now builds motorized race cars connected to wireless remotes – they are seriously amazing.

My 12-year-old build the Laser Pegs Mini T Rex in minutes and loved that he was able to flip a switch to turn it on and off. The figures are great because they stand on their own. This particular set was great to start with because there are not many pieces.
