9 Jobs To Consider Working During Lockdown

The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically affected the entire world. Everyone is on lockdown, which means that people cannot go out of their home unless it’s important, such as hospital visits and grocery shopping. With that, going to work has been restricted – that’s why companies resort to working from home. But unfortunately, not every company has the capacity to hold a work from home environment, forcing them to close their business and let go of their staff.

If you’ve been affected by the lockdown, lost your job or just looking for an additional, here are the jobs that you could consider during the lockdown:

  1. Babysitter

Since most people are working from home, they might have difficulty looking after their children while working during the day. It will be a challenge to care for their children, family, and work all at the same time. More people opt to hire a babysitter to look after their children while working from home.

  1. Food And Grocery Delivery

Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic has made its noise to the news, people had been practicing social distancing and limiting any interaction with strangers as much as possible. These measures affected the way we purchasing food and eat at restaurants. Instead of going out just to buy a particular craving, people would just call for a food delivery service that helps to limit their contact with other people. With food delivery, all you have to do as the deliverer is to pick up food at your customer’s chosen restaurant and safely bring them to their homes. You can leave it by their door front and don’t have to worry about the payment as cashless payments are highly encouraged by businesses today.

Aside from delivering food from restaurants, you can also choose to deliver grocery items to households. People prefer to limit their exposure outside as much as possible to reduce any chances of catching the virus. With the modern technology the world’s in today, people can conveniently have their groceries delivered to their home without going outside.

  1. Shipment Delivery

Since establishments are closed due to lockdown, limiting any physical interactions with strangers, more companies are going for an online store setup to keep their businesses running. With online stores, people don’t have to go through the hassle of going outside to purchase clothing, household items, and the like. With the increasing demand for online shopping, there’s also an increase in demand with hiring shipment delivery people to deliver goods to their customers on time.

  1. Home Cleaning Services

It’s a fact that people have been more health- and hygiene-conscious ever since the COVID-19 pandemic begun. People are extra cautious with their hygiene that they cannot leave the house without any sanitizer on hand. Along with this, people choose to hire a home cleaning service that intends to clean their house inch by inch with the option of disinfecting it. Hiring a home cleaning service will help them guarantee that their home is spotless and free from any virus.

  1. Customer Support

Most companies have gone online, and there’ll be fewer offices open for person-to-person customer support. Instead, companies have opened their line for online customer support to accommodate their customer’s concerns even with the lockdown implemented. With the increasing need for online support, many companies hire part-time or full-time customer support to handle issues. You could provide customer support via call, e-mail, live chat, or through social media channels.

  1. E-commerce business

Since everything has gone online, you may choose to hop in with the trend. You can choose to sell online to help yourself earn a few bucks. There are a lot of things that you can sell online such as household items, dining ware, interior decors, bake sales, and other creations. You can choose to create your own products to sell online such as candles, soaps, and baked goods, to name a few. If you’re looking to sell household items, you should look for a direct supplier to help you save a lot more.

  1. Online Teaching

With the lockdown being present, being able to teach kids directly can be quite tricky. Good thing that the pandemic has happened when the technology has been more advanced. With the world today, you can now practice blended learning to teach children via video call. You can conduct a class that teaches toddlers and children the basic things they need to learn, and their teacher’s presence will be with them.

Besides teaching children, there are also many online classes that teachers hold each day to learn new things or new skills. Since most people are staying at home and not exploring new things outside, an online teaching platform will help them learn and acquire the skill they like. They could learn a new language, graphic design, web development, or even light, such as learning how to knit and draw.

  1. Freelance

If you have the skills, you could benefit from selling your services on the market. There are a lot of freelance work that you could do from the comforts of your own home. Depending on your skills, you could be a graphic artist, animator, writer, blogger, editor, animator, video editor, virtual assistant, marketing associate, or a web developer, to name a few.

However, if you don’t have the necessary skills to start freelance work, there are many resources online that could help you earn and learn new skills to aid you in landing your first freelance job.

  1. Health Care Worker

If you have a degree related to health care, now is the time the world needs you the most. With the pandemic going on today, the health care workers are now the front-liners to every virus possible. While the positive cases are increasing day by day, front-liners may find it challenging to handle the rising number of cases. It can be risky, but you get to save a ton of lives once you’ve entered the health care career.

With the lockdown going on to the world today, businesses have been greatly affected, most especially when they’re physical services such as salons or massage service. While it could be a closure to some doors, more doors have opened due to the increasing need for delivery persons and online businesses. You can choose to start your own online business, or you could apply to one so that you could continue to earn while on lockdown. Now is the right time to do the things you’re limited to do while working away from home.
