Raising Awareness Through Play From Adventerra Games

I received products in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

Last year I got the chance to check out this environmentally friendly line of games called Adventerra Games. It is a line that focuses on environmental issues such as recycling, water usage and global warming. I feel like I didn’t learn about ways to save the environment until I was in school but am fortunate now to teach my own children the importance of the world around us.

Adventerra Games is a company that makes games “designed to make children aware of environmental issues through actions and concrete examples (waste reduction, recycling, use of renewable energy, etc.).”

All of the Adventerra games even use environmentally friendly raw materials (both recycled and recyclable), and instead of plastic, they use sustainable wooden pieces and biodegradable film made from sugar cane.

While I checked out some games last year, there are a few more Adventerra Games and puzzles for preschoolers to become better eco-citizens that are available:

PowerHaus

This game teaches kids they have real power to fight climate change!

Players live together in an inefficient house that wastes energy and must make changes to reduce utility bills. As you move through the game, decide which habits to change, and which appliances and home improvements are better for your wallet and the world. On each turn, you’ll gain or lose money depending on the investments you’ve made – so choose wisely!

Family members as young as 7 can play, but this game is especially fun for ages 9 to 14.

Ecologic Puzzle Respect the Earth

While building these mini puzzles, children discover daily actions they can take to help Respect The Earth. Players match pairs with the help of self-correcting joints and the backgrounds and characters depicted on the pieces. On the red-edged pieces, a diverse group of cute kids demonstrates common habits.  But on the green-edged pieces, they show better habits to protect the planet!

Helps develop

Visual memory
Right-wrong logical association ability
Hand-eye coordination

Ecologic Puzzle Animals at Risk

In this memory game, children match an animal at risk with their babies and learn about their habitats. The colors of the backgrounds and the illustrations on the large pieces help players to match the cards. This game introduces children to the concept of endangered animals and the importance of protecting them.

Helps develop

Visual memory
Knowledge of animals at risk
Mother-baby logical association ability
