For Better Money Management Stop Paying Out For These 4 Things

If only money grew on trees! Then all we would need to do is be green-fingered to be rich. Of course, it doesn’t, and so that means effective money management is crucial. Fortunately, you can find four things that you can stop paying out for that will improve your financial situation, below.

Cable TV

There is no denying that having cable TV can be fun. After all, you get access to all sorts of premium channels. However, cable TV is expensive, and it can be quite restrictive for many customers because they ask you to sign up for long-term subscriptions and specific packages, not all of which may have everything you want.

That is why if you want to save some money, you may wish to close down your cable TV subscription and opt for a streaming service instead. The benefit of using a streaming service is that you can access a wealth of content for a low price. You can also choose when to subscribe or not, so if you have a month where you know you’ll mostly be watching DVDs you can save the money you would have spent.

Hospital fees

Another thing that you shouldn’t be paying out for are hospital fees when the incident wasn’t your fault. Indeed, this applies to many situations, particularly those that have been victims of a car accident.

The good news is that by using a specialist car accident attorney you can claim back the cost of your hospital fees and medical treatment, so it doesn’t come out of your own pocket. In some cases, you will also be able to claim for lost earnings which can make a very big difference to your personal money management, indeed.

Budgeting apps

While budgeting apps seem like a great idea for those that are looking to better manage their money, they are also counterintuitive. After all, it’s likely that you are budgeting your money so you can save more, but many budgeting apps cost to use and subscribe to.

With that in mind, it may be a better option to work with an envelope budgeting method. The added benefit of this is that it’s much harder to overspend your cash for the month because using it is a much more visceral experience.

Amazon Prime

Are you really getting $139 worth a year out of your Amazon Prime subscription? Many people aren’t, like Amazon, which offers free two-day shipping on many of its products as long as you order over $25.

On the other hand, if you use all the additional features that come with your Prime accounts such as the TV and movie channels then you may feel that it’s worth the subscription fee. Indeed, just like other streaming services, there are some original shows and movies on Prime such as The Expanse and The Marvelous Mrs Maisel. However, if the only reason you have prime is for the free shipping, then it’s probably time to get rid of it and save yourself some money.
