Motherhood has its ups and downs. For the most part, all of your attention is on your child, and you come second. Unfortunately, when you are not making yourself a priority, you can start to feel bad about your look and how you are feeling. Don’t worry, you can still put your children first while you continue to take care of yourself, and here’s how.
Hydration is so important to help moms look and feel their best. When you are hydrated, your skin glows and stays firm, your body systems stay healthy, and your immune system stays strong allowing you to avoid getting sick and allowing you to keep up with the kids. Drink water all day long.
Get yourself a bottle with measurements that will allow you to keep track of how much water you are drinking in a day so that you can ensure you will stay properly hydrated at all times.
Get up a bit early and make sure you have the time to eat breakfast. If you don’t fuel yourself first thing in the day, you will lose steam as the day goes on and you will become short tempered and not have the energy to do all the things on your list. This will, in turn, make you extremely irritable.
Eating breakfast helps kickstart all of your energy and your body for the day. The meal doesn’t have to be huge, but you must make the time to be able to settle, sit, and eat before you have to start running around for the day.
Wear sunblock. It is the greatest thing you can do for yourself. Eat foods that will nourish your skin, and take the time to start a skincare regimen. Taking care of your skin does not have to be time consuming, and you can look radiant at all times.
Get a toner or serum that will help clear away the grime that builds up on your skin all day. Get face masks or charcoal masks that will help extract dirt and oil from within your pores. Use a moisturizer that is light but hydrating that you can wear during the day and at night. When you take the time to take care of your skin, you won’t look haggard or run down.
There is nothing wrong with treating yourself to some spa-like activities. Get a facial, get a massage, and get some laser hair removal. All of these items can be done once and their effects last long so you don’t have to keep up with them on a daily basis.

Exercise always makes a person look great. Exercise gets the blood flowing, gets nutrients and energy to the body, and it makes you feel more energized and confident. Many moms feel they can’t exercise with the kids in tow, but if you add the kids to your workout, then you can do two things at one time.
Go for long walks with your children in the park, put them in the stroller and go for a jog, or do a mommy and me yoga class so that you can do something great for yourself while you are setting a great example for your child.
You can put your needs first while putting your children first. In the long run, if you are not taking care of yourself then how are you going to take care of your family?
