Based on a remarkable true story, ORDINARY ANGELS centers on Sharon (Hilary Swank), a fierce but struggling hairdresser in small-town Kentucky who discovers a renewed sense of purpose when she meets Ed (Alan Ritchson), a widower working hard to make ends meet for his two daughters. With his youngest daughter waiting for a liver transplant, Sharon sets her mind to helping the family and will move mountains to do it. Now usually I don’t go for movies that could make me cry but I am a sucker for anything inspired by a true story. While Ordinary Angels didn’t exactly make me cry, it was a very inspirational movie. I was hooked immediately and rooted for the characters throughout. It is a movie that focuses on a few main characters. There is an alcoholic mom who needs to get sober and make amends with her son, a father who is battling grief from loosing his wife while also trying to take care of his daughters, and a daughter who is very sick and brings a community together.

The actors/actresses are all amazing and really bring the characters and their life stories alive. I even did some searches online after the movie because I wanted to know more. My favorite part of the movie was probably at the end they give glimses into the real-life people who inspired the movie and it is great to see their photos and where they are in life.

This film is appropriate for the whole family and shows some great lessons that we could all appreciate.
