Okay so as I have said before, I love my Wii. I am always looking for new games to try out, especially ones that give me a workout! Boxing especially is one of my favorites on the Wii because it is both fun, exciting, and usually gives me a good workout! So when I heard about Ready 2 Rumble from Atari, my husband and I were excited to try it out and luckily I was given a copy to check out.
Ready 2 Rumble Revolution is a where you fight like a real boxer with a Wii remote and a Nunchuk. I definetly recommend though doing the tutorial first as there are a lot of moves you can do that the tutorial will save you a lot of time. I decided that I didn’t need the tutorial and after ten minutes of trying to figure how I was doing certain moves, I caved and did the tutorial. After that, I got the hang of fighting and actually knew what I was doing.
In the game, there are 10 options, including 7 game modes. You can play single player in some of the modes or choose 2 player mode, which is my favorite. Not only can you choose the player mode, but also the venue, game options and customizeable options. Feeling creative? You can even customize your boxer character from his height/weight, voice, body type, and so much more. Then use your customized character to Rumble!
If mini games are your thing, there are 8 mini games to keep you busy. I was just amaze at how many different options, levels, challenges, characters, and moves there are. Everytime I thought I tried everything, I found something new to play and try. The 18 characters are also pretty funny too. They are all a parody of a celebrity and you can pretty much figure out who most of them are. My favorite is of course the Simon Cowell or Brad Pitt parody, both make me laugh so much when I fight them! The game is hosted by “The Voice of the Champions” Michael Buffer, famous for his “Let’s Get Ready to Rumble” trademark call, which Rumble is what you do!
My husband and I actually played this game for a few hours the first night and since it has become a weeky ritual for us. We like to play the game to relieve stress, laugh, and get in a workout. With the boxing moves, you really get into it and start throwing punches with both hands. After a game, my arms are so worn out and I can’t believe that I am sweating from a video game!
Just so you know though, Ready 2 Rumble is rated T for Teen, due cartoon violence, mildly suggestive themes, and tobacco use.
