Back in June was my son’s first birthday and due to our move his party was postponed. Well last weekend we had his party and it was a hit! We figured since everyone wanted to check out the house anyways and we didn’t want housewarming presents (this is our 3rd house but I know people feel obligated to bring a gift) we decided to have a “Gavin’s 1st Birthday / Come See Our New House Party!” Well as you all probably know having a party is stressful enough, between the cleaning, shopping, preparing, and somewhere in that mix trying to still entertain two kids!
Well one thing that really makes a party is balloons, but they can be costly and who has the time to go to a party store the day of the party to buy balloons! I once bought a bunch of balloons and lost half to wind in the parking lot! Anyway, well thanks to Balloon Time Helium Kits, I had one item checked of my list.
Balloon Time Helium Kits are perfect for any occasion and it was a definite lifesaver for us.
The Kit comes with:
* An 8.9 cubic feet helium-filled tank
* 30 vibrant, assorted colors, 9” latex balloons (but you can use your own balloons_
* A spool of white ribbon to tie to the balloons
So the morning of the party I spent about 15 minutes blowing up the balloons with the tank and passing them off to my sister to tie a ribbon on. It was a quick and painless process and it was fun to do. We were able to get all 30 balloons filled with the tank and we had plenty of ribbon left over. It was kind of funky to fill as the directions were on the box and there was a huge shipping store over it that I couldn’t remove. But once we figured out that you twist the lever and then push down on the black rubber piece to let the helium out, we were on a roll! Also we overfilled the first few balloons (I got a little to excited) and they popped a few minutes later. You want the balloons to be round not pear shaped, as I found out the hard way!
The balloons last about 5-7 hours and even though I know the ones from party stores last longer, I was still happy with it. It was also so easy that with adult supervision a younger child could do it! Now I got mine from Target but they do carry the Balloon Time kits at various party stores, Wal-Mart, Kmart, Meijer, Kroger, and more. The kits also come in different varieties that include different size tanks and more balloons. I felt 30 though were perfect for our size party and for the cost (between $20-$30) it was reasonable. I mean a dollar or less a balloon works for me!
Balloon Time also has a great website as it features different party planning ideas and themes. You can even download a PDF with all the suggestions! There is also a great contest going on right now where your child could win $1500 and be featured on a Balloon Time package. Also, there will be 50 winners who receive a Balloon Time 30 Helium Kit. All you have to do is upload a picture of your child (ages 3-11) and register. My boys aren’t 3 yet, so no hope for me!
