Tickle Tap iPhone Apps Review: Love Them!

With all the apps available on the iPod Touch, I think I am most excited about the ones for kids.  There are just so many great ones out there that I think are really helping Aidan, or at least I hope so!
Tickle Tap Apps has designed age appropriate educational games for preschoolers that are not only adorable but fun!  All of the Apps are tested by kids and checked out by educational researchers.  The games are designed for both assisted learning and independent play, which is my son’s favorite!  I love that they are so simple, but yet really engage both my sons!

I received two apps to try out:  Sort Slider and Sound Shaker.  Both of these apps contain the colorful Tickle Tap animals and I couldn’t pick one as their favorite because they play both so much!

Sound Shaker is a fun sound-making game.  By moving the iPhone / iPod Touch or tapping the screen, children can create and play with chime, whistle, drum, barnyard animal and mystery sounds!  By tapping repeatedly new sounds are generated and if your child doesn’ t tap they will see surprise animations.  This App is geared toward 3-5 year olds, but my 17 month old loves to tap the balls and listen to the sounds.  Sound Shaker teaches sounds, encourages listening skills, and improves concentration.

Sort Slider is a shape matching game where children match items with their shadows.  Some of the items include umbrellas, flowerpots, tree branches, and baseball caps.  To match all children have to do is tilt the device or touch and drag the object with their finger.  Harvey the dog pops up too to offer encouragement!  Sort Slider teaches about different objects, great for practicing matching and improves concentration.  Aidan is so good at this game!  It makes me smile every time he gets an item right.  This App is geared toward 3-5 year olds and I tried this one with Gavin, but since he is younger he didn’t get it as much as Aidan did!

Overall, Tickle Tap Apps are an A+ in my book.  Both that we have tried keep my boy’s attention and I love how they are more than just a game.  There are eleven total Tickle Tap Apps for kids and I am sure we will slowly be working our way through them.  A few are free but they are basic ones, most cost either $0.99 or $1.99, and they are definitely worth it!

BUY IT:  You can by Sort Slider or Sound Shaker on iTunes for $1.99 or check out the rest of the Tickle Tap Apps

Mama’s Money Savers Disclaimer: I was given both apps to review. This review is 100% my opinion and has not been edited or reviewed by anyone. I was not compensated in any other way for this product review.
