Proctor & Gamble is hosting a “Thank You Mom Reunions” contest nationwide to reunite moms and their children for milestone family moments like graduations and birthdays that otherwise might be missed. There will be a total of 105 reunions, which will consist of 15 per month for ten months. Since Mother’s Day, participants have been submitting their stories online to be considered for a reunion with their mom or mother figure for the June contest. Thirty finalists have been selected and voting has begun to narrow it down to 15 winners. Winners will receive a $1000 travel voucher and portable digital camera to capture their reunion and are encouraged to share their video on thankyoumom.com.

I think this is a great idea for a contest because we all have stories to share and there are so many families that live far away from each other and miss events because they can’t afford to travel, don’t have the time, or for health reasons. I am lucky and live about an hour from my parents and in-laws so we see both a lot, but I know many people are not as lucky. I am also a sucker for reading stories so I will be checking the entries out!
