The Wiggles Wiggly Circus Review

My sons are 2 and 3 years old but I remember when a time when all my 3-year old son would watch is the Wiggles.  For whatever reason the Wiggles always calmed him down and it was the only TV show that did that.  So when he was about 18 –months old I took him to a Wiggles concert.  It was his first live show performance and he did pretty good and was amazed at seeing the Wiggles in person instead of on TV.

Well last month, I got the chance to take both my sons to The Wiggles Wiggly Circus and it was awesome.  I personally think the Wiggles put on a great show and as an adult I can tolerate it.  The show featured all the Wiggles, Captain Feathersword, Dorothy the Dinosaur, Henry the Octopus, Wags the Dog and all the Wiggly Dancers, all centered around a circus theme.  There was tons of music, jumping around and dancing.  The Wiggles even came in to the audience to collect roses for Dorothy and bones for Wags the Dog.  I was even more surprised though that they played some non-children’s music, nothing inappropriate but fun music from the 70s and 80s (not that I can remember an example now of course.)

The Wiggles also made jokes and comments like Anthony saying he is getting too old for jumping and how the guy that took Murray’s place (yes Murray was MIA due to a family emergency) had to watch one Wiggles video for 24 hours to learn all the songs!  Again nothing was inappropriate but rather something adults could laugh at and relate to.

I cannot believe though the energy of the Wiggles and the gang.  They are all so upbeat and positive, and they do so much on stage.  I highly recommend checking out the Wiggles if they ever come to your area as it is one of the few shows that both my kids and I enjoy, well as much as I could anyways!

Until the next Wiggles tour, you can check them out Online and on Sprout!

Mama’s Money Savers Disclosure:  I received tickets to this performance through my partnership as a Sprout Mom.  My opinions remain my own.  Please see my Disclosure Policy.

  • We were just told when we got there that Murray had a family commitment that day. So it sounded like a one time only thing but I guess you never know.

Have fun and bring your camera! They encourage pics!

  • Hi,do you know if it was just the one show Murray missed or is it the rest of the tour? we have tickets to see them Oct 24th,Thanks!!

    • According to Wigglepedia, Murray had to leave for some tours due to his family emergency and back pain and he was replaced by Brad Carroll and Simon Pryce (under the nickname “Ringo”) respectively. As a result of this replacement, Kendall Goddard would play Fiona The Circus Leader whenever Simon Pryce (under the nickname “Ringo”) filled in for Murray.
However, according to footage from The Wiggles' Great Adventure!, the Asia tour footage features what seems to be Paul Paddick subbing in for Simon's role, who was absent during that leg of the tour.
