MY THOUGHTS:

I remember laughing when a friend of mine in college said she sold knives door to door.  Well later on I realized that she was actually selling CUTCO knives and that they are expensive but worth it.  Now I never really though about how important knives are until I got married and really started cooking.  Cutting fruits, vegetables, and meats with dull, cheap knives can really take a toll on your foods and patience.  Dull knives take awhile to cut through foods, rusts after awhile, may be awkward or hard to grasp, stain, and obviously dull until they barely cut through the surface.  For example, cutting a tomato is usually tricky but with a CUTCO knife it is no problem at all to get clean, smooth slices.

I was sent the Cook’s Combo which is 7” Santoku Knife and a Trimmer (utility knife.)  The Santoku Knife is so versatile and balanced to create clean slices every time.  I found it great for quickly dicing fruits and vegetables and slicing chicken breasts.  It is not too heavy and since it cuts through easily its not like I need a lot of pressure at all to use it.  The Trimmer is CUTCO’s best-selling knife and is also very versatile in the kitchen.  This knife I found great as my all-purpose knife, especially tomatoes, sandwich rolls, onions, you name it, it cuts it!

Overall, I have found myself grabbing these two knives over and over.  I love that they are lightweight, have easy to grasp handles, dishwasher safe and they will last for years to come before even needing sharpening.  I will say though that these knives are so sharp that you need to be careful if you are not used to sharp knives and definitely keep them away from kids.  My mom even cut herself while washing dishes because she was used to hand-washing her knives.  She was amazed when I said they are dishwasher safe and how well they cut through everything as she had to then test it out!
