Wendy’s Bloggers & Friends Meet-and-Greet Lunch #WendysPick2 (& Giveaway Ends 11/16)

So if you may have noticed I have blogged about Wendy’s a few times before, but honestly it is one of my favorite fast food restaurants.  Well a few weeks ago I attended a Wendy’s bloggers & friends meet-and-greet Lunch right here at a Chicagoland Wendy’s.  What was so great about it (other than the free lunch of course) was that I was going to get to meet up with other bloggers and really check out the new “Pick Two “ menu.

I have to say I can’t remember the last time I went into Wendy’s to eat because I am usually running through the drive-thru, and Wendy’s really is a happening place.  I was surprised at how busy they were still after their lunch rush.  I think the new “Pick Two” menu is really a hit too because I noticed a few others checking out the sign and ordering from it.  It was so nice though to not be rushed and actually enjoy a meal, minus the fact that I had my two kids with me who were being terrors!  I did get the chance to talk with some other local bloggers and I recognized a few from past events around Chicago.  I also got to bring a friend, which I of course brought Maria from My Chicago Mommy!

Overall though we had fun and I do highly recommend the new Wendy’s “Pick Two” meals.  There are a total of 28 possible combination’s where you pick two items and the cost is only $4.99!  I got the Baja Salad and a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger and was thrilled with how big the salad was for a half-size.  I have had a regular full-size Baja Salad before and the half-size salad really is just fine especially if I am eating something else.  If you just wanted a salad for example you could add a beverage and still be under $5!  I think Wendy’s is awesome for featuring these great combination’s and its so nice to be able to mix and match so many items and still have the meal be affordable!  Oh and not to mention that eighteen of the new combination’s are less than 600 calories (without dressing.)

Items to pick from:

• Apple Pecan Chicken Salad,  a perfect mix of peak-season red and green apples, real blue cheese crumbles, sweet cranberries and roasted pecans, topped with warm grilled chicken
• Baja Salad, a hearty Southwestern salad that features fresh pico de gallo, guacamole and Wendy’s original chili, all topped with a red jalapeno dressing
• Spicy Chicken Caesar Salad, offering hand-chopped Romaine lettuce and sweet grape tomatoes topped with shaved Asiago cheese and warm spicy chicken
• BLT Cobb Salad, which mixes crispy Applewood Smoked Bacon with real blue cheese crumbles, hard-boiled eggs, tomatoes and an avocado ranch dressing
• Wendy’s Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger, featuring a hot and juicy beef burger with American cheese and fresh-cooked, thick-cut Applewood Smoked Bacon
• Wendy’s rich and meaty chili
• a Baked Potato (cooked in an oven, not zapped in a microwave)
• One of our grilled or spicy homestyle Chicken Go Wraps
• A refreshing Dasani bottled water, a cool and creamy small Frosty, or any other small-size beverage
