MY THOUGHTS:

Every year for Christmas we go to my grandma’s house in Chicago for dinner.  I don’t remember when she stopped using her China dishes, maybe when my boys were born, but as a replacement she would put out what I called “fancy plasticware.”  It was plastic silverware that looked real, and I am still amazed at how real it looks.  I then started thinking how easy it is to throw everything away, rather than try to clean everything after a big party.  Now don’t get me wrong, I am all about recycling and reusing, but sometimes disposable comes in handy too.  For example, if you are throwing a party Wedding or Baby shower somewhere and are providing your own food and dishes, then its not like you are going to slap some paper plates and white plastic silverware on the tables.  Smarty Had A Party allows you to buy fancy looking party and dinnerware at affordable prices that help with the finishing touches of the party!

I set everything out already and it really does look nice, and I am usually a China lover for events.  I plan to set everything out for Thanksgiving this year instead of my China to see everyone’s reactions!  I think I will be less nervous too with these plastic dishes than I am when people are handling my China, especially my very active sons and siblings.  I also plan to re-use any of the items I can as they all seem pretty durable so I am thinking I can get a few more uses out of them!  So for my little Thanksgiving dinner I can wash the dishes and store them for our next party or if someone throws it away I don’t have to worry.

Overall, I really like the concept of Smarty Had A Party because as someone who throws a lot of parties, it is nice to have nicer dishes, cups, and other items, rather than the cheap plates that fall apart and don’t match the rest of my décor!
