Uncle Ben’s Whole Grain White Rice Review (& Giveaway Ends 11/19)

MY THOUGHTS:

I grew up with Uncle Ben’s rice and although I do occasionally get other brands, I always come back to Uncle Ben’s.  The new Whole Grain varieties are awesome though and have definitely made me more loyal!  My sons are terrible eaters at mealtime and anyway I can sneak in nutrients is a big challenge.  I have tried brown rice before and they look at it like it is foreign or something.  With the new varieties I can feed my family healthy sides or just just slip the rice into entrees.  Who knew you could make Sloppy Joes with rice?  And the Pizza Rice balls sound like they would be a hit and I could even have my sons help with making them!

The only flaw with Uncle Ben’s Whole Grain Rice is that it does take a little longer to cook than quickie microwave rice brands, but the quality is worth it!  The whole process from cooking to letting it sit and absorb the rest of the water, takes about fifteen minutes.  You also have to cook them on the stove, no microwave directions, but it is really easy to make (just add water to the Whole Grain White Rice.)  Oh and the Whole Grain White Rice has no preservatives, no MSG, and is vegetarian.  My favorite flavor though is the Whole Grain White Rice in Creamy Chicken.  Overall thought I love the concept of Whole Grain White Rice, especially for picky eaters who think brown rice looks funny!
