Change your Fire Alarms with Energizer Review (& Giveaway Ends 12/17)

ABOUT:

For 23 years, Energizer has teamed up with the International Association of Fire Chiefs (I-A-F-C) and thousands of fire departments nationwide to encourage everyone to adopt the life-saving Change Your Clock Change Your Battery® habit of changing and testing smoke alarm batteries with each fall time change. This is so important because having a working smoke alarm can cut the risk of dying in reported home structure fires in half as they can often provide critical extra seconds needed to get out of your home safely. And even though 96% of American homes have smoke alarms, many do not have one that works because of missing or worn-out batteries.

MY THOUGHTS:

I have been a homeowner for seven years now and I honestly have slacked about checking my fire alarms each year.  I know it is something so simple and takes just seconds, but I just haven’t done it.  I actually didn’t even think about checking when we moved into our new house to see if the ones we have even work.  After reading about this Energizer initiative, I had my husband just replace each one with fresh Energizer batteries just to be safe.  I also made a yearly automatic note on my computer calender to remind me to change the batteries.  Having a working fire alarm can really save your family’s life and anything I can do for extra notice of a fire I am going to do.  I also like Energizer batteries in general because they are a brand I can trust to last.

BUY IT: Look for Energizer batteries at your retailer (make sure to have them on hand Christmas morning too if you have young kids!)

WIN IT: (1) US winner will receive a First Alert Smoke Alarm along with a 2-pack of 9volt Energizer Max batteries

TO ENTER: Leave a comment on whether or not you remembered to check all your smoke detectors this year.
