MY THOUGHTS:

First off what is nice about Tropical Traditions Powdered Laundry Detergent is that it is environmentally safe and non-toxic (not that I think my boys would eat it but you never know!)    It is also a great value as you can get a 5lb. bottle of powered detergent for $16.99 – a typical load requires about 2 oz.  Yes it costs more than some brands, but if you are looking for a more natural and safe detergent you’re your family, Tropical Traditions Powered Laundry Detergent is great.  You can also use this detergent with front or top-loading washers.

I found the bottle very easy to use and it even comes with a scoop for the detergent!  Just dump it in as you would other laundry detergent and fill in with your clothes!  I noticed immediately that it foamed up nicely which at least to me shows that the laundry soap has some consistency to it and will scrub your clothes.  I have seen other detergent just blend in with the water and I had to wonder if my clothes were actually getting cleaned.  After the wash cycle, I didn’t notice any soap or residue left behind, sometimes powder detergent doesn’t dissolve all the way and clumps at the bottom or on the clothes but this Tropical Traditions detergent worked great.  My clothes went through the dryer and even without fabric softener they came out soft and fresh.  There really isn’t a smell to the detergent, which is especially nice if you are sensitive to detergents, but the clothes did have a clean smell and feel.  The detergent worked great for me and it is definitely going to last me awhile!  I also want to add that I haven’t had any major stains yet on our clothes but I would probably pre-treat anyways so I’m not sure how good this detergent would be on tough stains.
