Celebrate Easter with Musselman’s Apple Sauce and Lucky Leaf Pie Filling!

I am a terrible experimental cook, but I can follow a recipe!  With Spring just about here, that means that Easter is coming too!  Pretty pastels, colorful flowers, the Easter Bunny and of course yummy food!  To help prepare for a sunny and cheerful holiday, Knouse Foods (maker of Musselman’s and Lucky Leaf products) has some tips and recipes to make entertaining a breeze!

Whether you are gathering with family and friends for brunch or dinner this Easter, here are some simple and fun ideas:

  • Create a spring color scheme and fill glass vases with jellybeans of the colors you have chosen.  Layer the colors, make your own designs and add spring flowers.
  • Use the blossoms of tulips and daffodils to fill parceling egg cups and make small floral arrangements.   Place these on a tiered petit four tray to create a centerpiece or just spread them out across the table!
  • Create bunny-shaped napkin and place them on your table to compliment your Easter place setting.
  • To start the day on a sweet note, serve bunny-shaped pancakes with your favorite Lucky Leaf Pie Filling on top.
  • To add some kick to your Easter feast, create a cocktail that’s perfect for the season.  A mix of champagne, pomegranate juice and grapefruit juice is a festive concoction that is sure to hit the spot.  Want a sweeter mixture? Replace the grapefruit juice with orange juice.
  • A cookie-decorating bar is fun for all ages.  Supply the artists with bowls or pastel icings, sprinkles, colored sugars and popular cookie toppings to add a unique finishing touch.
  • Send your guests away with edible favors like an Easter basket filled with the ingredient for a perfect S’meep – a s’more made with a Peep in place of a regular marshmallow!

Here are some yummy recipes featuring of course Knouse food products (Musselman’s Apple Sauce and Lucky Leaf:

Cherry Pineapple Surprise

In case you are concerned about High Fructose Corn Syrup, Lucky Leaf Pie filling does not have any it!  This recipe is basically a dump cake, which means you dump a few ingredients in a pan and cook it – my kind of cooking!  Now I am planning on making this for Easter so I don’t have a picture of my cake but I will have one after Easter.
