Having Fun with the New Caillou Toys!

The popular animated children’s show, Caillou, from Cookie Jar Entertainment has now been brought to life from ID Toys.  There are three new toys featuring Caillou so kids can have fun and explore with Caillou himself.

MY THOUGHTS:

My boys love the show Caillou and I think it is great that there are finally some toys starring him.  As much as I hate having more toys in the house, the Caillou toys are great because they are fun and my boys think its cool to play with their Caillou toys while watching the show.

I got the chance to check out the Caillou Classic 14.5 inch Doll and the Caillou Learning Train.  I thought there would be a fight over the train, but actually my 2 year old loves to snuggle and carry around the Caillou Doll!

Caillou Classic 14.5 inch Doll

• Features the classic Caillou outfit anda  soft body for snuggling.
• The vinyl head, arms, and feet hold up to frequent cuddles and clean up easily.

As I said my youngest loves this doll and carries him around.  I think its nice for him to have a boy doll and one that he recognizes from one of his favorite shows.  I will say though it is a little tough to cuddle with since only the tummy part is soft, the rest is hard plastic, but then again I can see the benefit of being able to clean him up by wiping a damp cloth on his face, arms, and legs.  The doll is big at over a foot and is pretty durable, which my son has been whipping him around everywhere!

Caillou Learning Train

• Features a wind uo train engine that chugs forward while Caillou and Rosie move up and down.
• Ages 12 months and up.
• Retails for $24.99

This train is adorable because it is so bright and kid-friendly.  My favorite part is that it does not require batteries!   You just wind it up and the characters move up and down!  There is also a bell you can push that is on a spring, the steam coming out of the train can be squeezed so it sqeaks, a dial you can spin around, and there are three beads you can move across a bar on the train.   There are two train cars that attach easily together so Caillou and Rosie can go off together!  The train comes with two figurines (Caillou and Rosie) that are just the right size for little hand to hold and place in the train.  My boys are 2 and 4 years old and think this train is cool so I can assume that a 12 month old would have a ball with it!  I love that it has so many great features in one!
