Red Toolbox Kits & Tool Sets for Kids Review (& Giveaway Ends 6/20)

ABOUT:

Red Toolbox is a company that offers a new and innovative line of specially designed tools and carpentry kits for kids.  The line includes a variety of tools ergonomically designed to fit a child’s grip as well as original carpentry kits that kids and parents can create together, allowing them to spend valuable time together while learning new skills.

The kits reasonably prices and can serve as a memorable present or memento.  The Red Toolbox line includes a variety of tools made especially for kids, including a 10 piece tool set, work bench and cordless drill as well as unique kits to build a newspaper stand, birdhouse, and interactive mini-golf accessories that can be used after they have been built!  The one-of-a-kind kits feature a level system – Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced projects.  Each level increases in complexity allowing kids to develop carpentry skills and enhance their creativity as they advance forward.

MY THOUGHTS:

Recently my in-laws cleaned out their basement and found a bunch of derby cars that my husband had built when he was younger and in Boy Scouts.  My husband never built anything else and he reminisced with me over how much fun it was to make them and now our boys play with them!

I think Red Toolbox has an awesome concept with selling real tools for kids and kits to build useful and neat items.  I received a tool set and a sample kit to try out:

8 Piece Set

Includes: Goggles, Tape Measure, Philips Screwdriver, flat screwdriver, Hammer, Saw, File, 2″ clamp

Treasure Chest (Level 1 Beginners)

The Red Toolbox products start at ages 8 and up so I haven’t tried this out yet with our son, but I think he’d be ready to try it out now if my husband just had time to help him!  I definitely think this would be a great opportunity for father-son bonding.  I want my boys to grow up being handy and have quality memories of being with their dad.

The tool set from Red Toolbox is awesome.  The tools are kid-sized but they are actual tools!  Since they are actual tools, I haven’t let my son play with the saw or hammer, but he has enjoyed the goggles, tape measure and screwdrivers.  I want my boys to be handy with tools as there are so many men out there that are clueless as to fixing basic things around the house.

The Treasure Chest is just one of the great kits and comes with everything you need to build it.  The box even says what tools you need.  This is a Level 1 project so it is great for kids to get their feet wet.  I am going to have my son build this for his future sister to use as a bank!  I think it will be adorable if we get some pink paint and glitter for it!  I have seen so many other great kits that my boys would love and honestly I would love to have!  These kits would be perfect to use to build gifts or just to do on a boring or rainy day!  I also think this kits would be great for both boys or girls, as I believe girls should be handy too – I know I wish my dad had taught me a few things with tools!
