Managing Computers…

My mother-in-law recently took a job where she is basically the middle man between her boss and the IT guy.  Her boss is not computer savvy and prefers to not even deal with it so since my mother-in-law is not the most computer savvy either, my husband is trying to help her out.  My husband being a computer programmer understands most computer things, but really hasn’t been in the web world recently which isn’t very helpful.  My husband though does understand content managemnt system, which basically enables business users to easily create, manage and update web content without an IT specialist.  He figures the more my mother-in-law can do the more efficient she will be at her new job.

Two things though he is not the most savvy at is online marketing tools and site search engine tasks.  He just never did much with the Internet, especially with the way the Internet has grown, that is learning along with my mother-in-law on how to manage her new bosses web site.  I am happy he is expanding his knowledge but I admit I wonder if it will be useful in the long run and it is taking time away from us for him to do all this.  Although I guess I am not one to judge since I blog and that does take time away from our family.
