Smencils and Smens Review

The pens are made with recycled newspaper barrels and biodegradable plastics. The pens are infused with 10 different gourmet scents and put into corn-based biodegradable freshness tubes.

MY THOUGHTS:

I can’t believe I never thought about pens or pencils that smell before.  I mean the first thing I do when I uncap a marker is smell it. Smelly markers have been around since I was younger and I think it is neat that there are now yummy smelling pens and pencils!  Not only do they smell great but they are also better for the environment which is a great bonus!

I got the chance to check out a bunch of the Original Smencils, Colored Smencils and Smens to review and it actually makes me want to go back to traditional pen and paper rather than typing everything!  When I opened the package the smells were so awesome I couldn’t believe it was coming from pens and pencils.

First off all the pens and pencils are in individual tubes to protect them and keep them fresh.  I immediately opened them all up and started smelling them and writing with them.  They do work and look like regular pens and pencils, except since the pens are made with recycled paper the bodies are paper covered instead of plastic.  I love all the scents and still can’t believe they are coming from pens and pencils.  I also noticed that the paper that I wrote on had a light delicious scent too!

Smens and Smencils are a great tool to write with that will definitely make you smile.  There is a scent for everyone and they write normally, not colored (the pen ink is black.)  I think they would make a great stocking stuffer, little gift for someone or yourself, back to school supplies, or even as birthday favors!  It is a unique idea and while it may be cheesy, the scents are pretty amazing and fun!
