Educational Insights: Ring the Bell Electronic Goal Tracker Review (& Giveaway Ends 9/30)

MY THOUGHTS:

I never thought of using a goal tracker but it actually is a really great idea!  This one from Educational Insights is really neat!

Fun sounds and an exciting carnival theme take the goal chart to a whole new level! Teacher writes the goal and reward at the top and the milestones along the side of this freestanding electronic tracker. Each time a milestone is achieved, the “puck” slides up closer to the goal, activating fun sounds and blinking lights. When the goal is achieved, students are rewarded with a sound and light show.

• Funds raised
• Perfect attendance
• Homework completed
• And more!

First off, the Ring the Bell Electronic Goal Tracker is a lot taller than I expected.  It’s about two feet tall and so bright and fun.  My boys were so curious and excited to try it out.  Right out of the box all you do is push the tracker into its stand and put in 3 AAA batteries.  I actually didn’t have AAA batteries so we have been pretending how the sound is!

You then write in your milestones, there are 100 marks, so you can work in increments or use percentages (25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%.)  You then use a dry erase marker and write in your goals.  The instruction book even includes a Congratulations certificate and Goal Tracker worksheet.

This tracker would be great for a classroom but at home I can definitely see a few uses!  The first thing I am going to use it on is potty training.  I am going to put this tracker in the bathroom and mark it in increments of five, when my son reaches the top, he will get his prize.  I am hoping this works, but we shall see as I can see him moving the tracker up on his own to cheat!  I am going to mark with a dry erase marker though and hide that marker!

Overall, the possibilities are endless for this tracker.  It can be used for so many things both at home and in a classroom.  The only thing I would change is to maybe include a dry erase marker with it but otherwise its simple, fun and ready to go!
