With Halloween right around the corner we have been watching Halloween DVDs to get in the mood. There are two DVDs featuring some of my son’s favorite PBS characters: Cat in the Hat and the WordWorld gang!
The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! Tricks and Treats
A new spooky adventure this DVD brings, with The Cat, Nick and Sally, Fish and the Things. Meet the eeriest critters you have ever seen, arrived just in time for this Halloween! There will be lots of tricks and, of course lots of treats, to share with the animal friends you will meet! There’s a coconut crab, spider monkeys and bats, and plenty more fun with The Cat in the Hat!
With The Cat in the Hat being new to my boys, they were really excited to see how they celebrate Halloween in it. I think this is the first time we have seen The Cat in the Hat in a seasonal-type DVD too. Of course there is the crazy imaginations of Nick and Sally with their adventures with The Cat. The DVD is wholesome and we will probably be watching it long after Halloween is over!
WordWorld: A Kooky Spooky Halloween
In WordWorld’s Halloween special A Kooky Spooky Halloween the WordFriends get their share of scares the night before Halloween and Sheep is busy making herself a super special fairy costume to wear for the big Halloween party. It’s Kooky, it’s Spooky, and it’s so much fun!
This DVD features 2 episodes, each 15 minutes long and it is worth it at the price of only $6.99. The first episode features Pig who sleep walks covered in a sheet and the WordFriends think he’s a ghost. The other episode features the WordFriends in their Halloween costumes. We have watched this DVD practically every day since we got it and Aidan has yet to get sick of it! I love that it is all about Halloween and features some great songs and costumes!
